Art cart

Haig Park Experiments is commissioning a portable multi-purpose cart for Park Caretakers to use for carrying workshop materials, lightweight seating, outdoor cooking equipment, and more. The cart functions as a ‘concierge desk’ and moves around the park as needed.

Haig Park has no flexible facilities to enable delivery of small-scale community engagement activities such as workshops or gatherings.

A portable multi-purpose cart can facilitate the materials and equipment necessary for small events and workshops in Haig Park.

Favourable outcomes

Art Cart improves the functionality and amenity of experiments, therefore increasing park usage and improving public perception.

Popping up at the same time as the The Pop Inn, join us for the very first Forest Sounds - a freeform drawing workshop facilitated by Naomi Zouwer of The Creative Practise. and inspired by a live ambient soundtrack from local musician Sebastian Field.This workshop is open to all ages and skill levels. No sign-up required.

As part of the art cart experiment, a casual drop-in drawing event was held in partnership with the Creative Practise. The event was well attended and featured a live musician and multiple easels for park users to join in. The event was promoted in conjunction with The Pop Inn.

The art cart has been commissioned and will be built fit for purpose. It is expected to be ready for use by early August. A series of artists have been engaged to hold workshops as part of the art cart experiment.
