Will be available at event-based experiments, and in warmer months

Haig Park Experiments is testing a range of outdoor seating options during its events program. In the warmer months, more seating will be available for informal use by park users.

Place plan theme: Infrastructure
'To enhance the function and use of the park.'

There is limited attractive and flexible seating in Haig Park which limits opportunities for people to visit and stay around.

More flexible, appropriate, quality seating can enable visitors to remain in the park comfortably. Moveable seating can encourage users to move seating to suit their needs.

Favourable outcomes

Increased dwelling time, greater enjoyment and improved public perception of Haig Park.

From July, keep an eye out for moveable seating popping up in the park near the Lonsdale and Mort streets intersection. We will also be using colourful new seating at other events and activities around the park. As the weather gets warmer later in the year, we will also have beanbags and hammocks scattered around the best spots for lounging around.
