What's on next
  • Tuesday, 10 September 2019, 15:00 PM till Friday, 20 September 2019, 23:00 PM.
If you are 65+ and interested in influencing the design of your public space, we would love for you to join designer Bryan Harris (ANU) and Cathy Hope (University of Canberra) in a series of 4 workshops to co-design – from idea to final prototype - public furniture that you would want to use. We will then have your final design built and trialled in Haig Park.

Workshop 1: Wed 25 Sep, 1–3pm: Guided tour of a local public space (Kingston foreshore) + lunch (free)
Workshop 2: Wed 2 Oct, 1–2.30pm: Generating ideas for furniture design
Workshop 3: Wed 9 Oct, 1–2.30pm: Review of first draft designs
Workshop 4: Wed 23 Oct, 1–2.30pm: Presentation and evaluation of final prototype
You don’t have to attend all 4 workshops to participate. If you’re interested, please email Cathy Hope at by Friday 20 September.
  • Saturday, 28 September 2019, 12:00 PM till Saturday, 28 September 2019, 16:00 PM.
Enjoy a spring afternoon in Haig Park exploring the connections between women, wellbeing and our urban and natural environments. Share and learn with fellow Canberra women through a program of talks, workshops and activities such as intergenerational speed friending, urban foraging, discussions around women’s health, and more.
  • Saturday, 12 October 2019, 12:00 PM till Saturday, 12 October 2019, 17:00 PM.
Enjoy a beautiful day outdoors as Haig Park comes to life with four distinct areas to experience. Stock up at the picnic market or BYO barbecue or picnic to share a meal with new and old friends, check out the kids activities, watch great local performances or dance along to the live music, and take your furry friends through our dog agility equipment. This is a celebration of the best that spring has to offer in Canberra – a gorgeous setting, good friends and great times.
